TNT China upgrades air freight facility in Shanghai

TNT China has announced a major upgrade to its facility at Shanghai International Airport Freight Centre. The PVG international gateway facility has been moved to a new building.

The company said in a statement that it will shave an hour off processing times for individual consignments and be able to process up to 50% more packages per hour due to a €2 million investment in state of the art measurement equipment and a better designed floor plan designed to maximize process flow.

Customers will have greater flexibility in shipment operations due to the upgrade of the sorting facility, and throughput will be significantly increased.

MD of TNT Mainland China and Hong Kong Andrew Yang said of the upgrade, “Our customers will benefit from the improved capabilities and Shanghai’s growing repute as an international airport hub will provide them with rapid access and extensive reach to the world and similarly from the world into China.”
