Global positioning system specialist Trimble has bought Stockholm based PocketMobile, an enterprise mobile workforce solutions provider with a number of high profile clients in postal services, logistics, security and field service.

PocketMobile’s PreCom platform is an enterprise mobility platform for businesses with a large mobile workforce. Such companies run complex and business critical processes, such as deliveries and collections on the part of parcel delivery services. These companies have time critical and information heavy requirements and multiple backend systems.

The system made by PocketMobile is scalable and can be interfaced with a number of data and computer systems, and anables customers to build, configure and maintain mobile solutions according to their specific needs.

With requirements for data becoming every more complex, the market outlook for platform based mobile workforce solutions is very good, as technology switches to mobile phones and new operating systems. A flexible, reliable solution allows new services to be rolled out quickly and efficiently. The PreCom system allows for much of this to be carried out.
