UPS Express Critical extended to Europe

European customers of UPS can now access the UPS Express Critical services. This is a special service for time critical shipments that need special handling.

UPS have said that examples of the shipments that could be sent by UPS Express Critical could include an aircraft part that is urgently needed for a flight or a special surgical tool for an operating theatre.

According to the international logistics firm, a team from UPS will assess the shipping request via a 24/7 contact centre, identify transportation alternatives and implement a delivery solution that meets time and cost requirements. Options for the service could include a personal courier who carries the shipment by hand from origin to destination on a commercial flight.

“With the launch of UPS Express Critical service, our customers in Europe can  quickly find a way to get their critical shipments to their destination, balancing speed and cost,” said Boris Dobberstein, Vice President Logistics & Distribution for UPS in Europe, Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East. “For many of our customers, speed to market determines how successfully they can reach customers and grow their business.”
