UPS opens new UK contract logistics facility

In the face of increasing demand from local businesses, UPS has opened a new contract logistics facility in the close to its Birch Coppice facility in Warwickshire.

The new 13,000 square metre facility will provide access to UPS global network via the East Midland Airport, and will serve the company’s retail and high tech business customers in the area.

This time last year UPS moved into the 152,000 square foot Birch Coppice package sorting hub on a 15 year lease, as it expanded to meet the needs of local businesses in the East Midlands.

Director of UPS Contract Services UK Derek Irving said of the new facility, “We continue to expand our contract logistics reach and capabilities in the UK and Europe to serve the growing demands of our business-to-business and business-to-consumer customers”.
