USPS rated most important US business by public

Consumer research organisation The Harris Poll has released a survey called The Harris Poll 100 that looked at the US public’s perceptions of the most important players in the US economy during quarantine. The US Postal Service (USPS) came top.

After the USPS, Clorox, Google, UPS, Walmart and Amazon (in ranking order) formed the rest of the top five.

The Harris Poll ranked businesses based on their resolve, integrity, responsiveness and permanence. Unlike the 2008 financial crisis, it is apparent the American public saw big corporations as part of the solution rather than the cause of the problem.

“When they needed it the most, Americans put their trust in the business community to help them through COVID-19,” said John Gerzema, CEO of The Harris Poll. “We’ve seen widespread approval of the corporate response to the pandemic – whether pivoting to different goods and services, reinforcing supply chains, or seeking cures for the deadly virus.”
