Wallenius Wilhelmsen receives new contract from Toyota

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has won a contract from Toyota to deliver cars from Japan to North America. The firm, which specialises in moving cars around the world by sea, currently has a contract with Toyota to deliver cars from Japan to Europe.

WWL has several contracts with Toyota businesses in the US, Europe, Africa and Australia, as well as a number of other automotive manufacturers around the world.

The first ship left Toyota’s plant at Tahara in Aichi, Japan on the 12 September, bound for Jacksonville, FL on the US East Coast, and is expected to arrive in early October. The ship will then head for Newark, New Jersey where it will complete the delivery.

Wallenius Willhelmsen is a market leader in roll on roll off shipping and in 2012 bought a 60% stake in Dutch Abnormal Load Services Holding and changed its name to WWL ALS.
