Whistl makes Parcelhub acquisition

Mail operator Whistl has bought Notts based Parcelhub and its sister company Mail Workshop amidst plans to accelerate growth in the parcels and fulfilment market.

Parcelhub distributes more than six million parcels a year on behalf of hundreds of e-commerce, eBay and Amazon retailers. It employs 90 staff and was founded by Mark Rosenberg and Steve Riley.

“It is a business that shares the same values as Whistl – providing excellent customer services cost effectively and also identified a gap in the market providing solutions for clients that could not access the services and discounts available to large volume mailers,” said Whistl chief executive Nick Wells.

“Working together we will be able to optimise our current parcels services to customers and build upon our expertise and presence in the fulfilment market.”

Mark Rosenberg will remain as Managing Director and continue to operate the business from Nottingham under the Parcehub and Mail Workshop brands. He said: “We have got to a stage in the development of the company that we need the extra firepower from Whistl to enable us to maximise our potential and to create opportunities for further growth.”

This is Whistl’s second acquisition following a management buyout in 2015. It acquired Prism DM in July 2017.
