The Dutch owned parcel British parcel operator Whistl has completed its Management Buyout (MBO) from PostNL according to reports. The company is currently currently the UK’s second biggest parcel operator after Royal Mail.
Whistl is being divested from the PostNL portfolio after a review of the Dutch postal operator’s businesses, and the MBO was initiated in July 2015.
PostNL will retain a significant shareholding with 17.5% of the business as it seeks to support the UK business into the future.
Whistl focuses on downstream access (DSA), packets, parcells, logistics and door drop media. It did run an end to end UK mail delivery service for three years but closed it earlier this year.
