Whistl – new staff and new software being developed

Parcel delivery company Whistl has made two announcements today. Firstly it has teamed up with iForce to develop an intelligent routing system. Meanwhile the company has recruited a new Packets and Parcels Development Director.

The business post and parcel delivery company has teamed up with iForce to create a bespoke carriage software system for its multi-carrier, single supplier packets and parcel service. The Intelligent Routing System (IRS) will enable Whistl to process, manage and track deliveries more efficiently, while enabling it to offer tailored and branded communications to the end consumer at chosen trigger points throughout the delivery process.

Christine Key, Managing Director, Packets & Parcels, Whistl, said, “The iForce IRS software has enabled us to provide a single, multi-carrier management tool suitable for both large and small retailers who want a seamless cost effective way to enhance their delivery activity and ultimately improve the end consumer experience.”

The company has also appointed Steve Vass to be its Packets and Parcels Delivery Director. Vass will continue the development of Whistl’s Carrier Management interface. He will also deal with the company’s relationships with carriers, advising the most appropriate solution as well as carrier management interface for its new and potential clients.

Vass has worked in the carrier industry for over 20 years, more recently spending six years with MetaPack.  He was also Product Development Director at Yodel.

Commenting on the new appointment, Nick Wells, CEO Whistl, said, “Steve will support the delivery of the packets & parcels strategy through leveraging his vast experience including faster on boarding of clients, the development of the carrier management platform capability, the introduction of strategically placed eCom partners and further integration with a wider carrier community to ensure we have the best in class service offering.”
