UK e-fulfilment solutions provider Whistl has announced plans for three new depots.
The largest of the three sites is to be a 300,000 square foot site in Magna Park South, Lutterworth. It will be the largest 3PL logistics and distribution unit in Whistl’s estate and will have space for 41 HGVs.
The next 133,000 square foot depot will be next to the existing Moulton Park, Northampton site that opened in autumn 2020 and reached full capacity by the end of the year. A 35,000 square foot depot is to be opened in Plymouth. Between the three new sites, Whistl says that 200 new jobs will be created.
At present, Whistl has 11 e-fulfilment sites across the UK, aimed at B2C and B2B retailers and offering end-to-end fulfilment.
Nick Wells, CEO of Whistl, commented, “We are significantly investing in capacity for Whistl Fulfilment which is being driven by new customer demand for our services. Filling Northampton in a matter of weeks of opening demonstrates the attractiveness of the Whistl Fulfilment proposition. We now have the scale and flexibility to meet the increasingly complex demands of our e-commerce customers.
“These new additions to our portfolio demonstrate our commitment to reducing our carbon impact and leading to longer term benefits for colleagues, customers and the communities we work within.”
