Freight management services provider Xpediator has bought out the freight forwarder and international courier Regional Express.
Regional Express is headquartered in Hampshire in the UK, and is an international B2B freight forwarding and courier business that operates in North America, Europe, Africa, South America, Australia and Asia.
It has two bases in Dorset and Hants, and offers road, sea and air freight solutions for its customers. These include door-to-door solutions, VAT registrations and freight forwarding to Amazon Global Selling.
After UK based Xpediator’s acquisition of Regional Express, the combined operation now operates from six sites around the UK.
The deal includes an initial consideration of £1.2m, comprising of £1.08m in cash and £0.12m in new Xpediator ordinary shares.
Based on the future trading performance, Xpediator will also pay up to £0.7m in cash to Regional Express.
Xpediator CEO Stephen Blyth said: “Regional Express is an exciting profitable niche operator and one which will fit well into the Xpediator Group, adding significantly to our existing air and sea freight operations, two areas where we have been looking to expand our presence.
“We also expect there will be a number of synergistic opportunities through offering Regional’s clients the wider services of the Xpediator Group in particular in warehousing and fulfilment, plus our European Network.”
