Yamato chooses Doddle’s PUDO platform

Major Japanese parcel carrier Yamato Holdings has chosen UK based international e-commerce solutions provider Doddle to help create a national pick-up/drop-off (PUDO) parcel network based on the Doddle software platform.

Yamato handles around 42% of the Japanese parcels market and this is one of the first times the parcels giant has reached out to an international software business as part of its transformation plans.

The NEXT 100 transformation plan aims at sustainably focused future delivery solutions that are efficient and customer-centric.

Under the arrangements, Yamato will use Doddle’s flexible, partner-agnostic platform to enable customers to choose to collect their parcels from the 240,000 Yamato partner shop network across Japan. More major retail companies are coming on board for this in the near future.

The Doddle end to end tech solution will enable customers to track their orders at every point of the journey from basket to collection, and will also allow Yamato’s 33 million Kuroenko privilege club members to arrange in-flight diversions from home to a collection point, or from one collection point to another.
