Yodel takes on Zellis for employee background checks

UK independent delivery company Yodel has taken on payroll and HR solutions provider Zellis to help it manage its rapid expansion in staff numbers to meet demand for deliveries.

Zellis will be doing background checks on the thousands of new staff that Yodel is taking on, speeding up the hiring process of the delivery company.

Yodel already handles around 160 million parcels a year and is one of the UK’s leading couriers. It has seen strong growth in demand due to e-commerce growth in the pandemic. Zellis is to co-ordinate the end-to-end colleague screening cycle and will conduct all background checks, liaising with candidates, handling queries, and reporting to management and suppliers through its software.  

Zellis background checking software integrates easily with Yodel’s in-house IT systems and unlocks automation opportunities to reduce the costly administrative burden that would otherwise fall on the HR department. The process will accelerate time-to-hire, reduce data entry errors, and improve visibility into the progress of individual applicants.
