Yodel to deliver 3 million Gousto boxes a year

Recipe box company Gousto and UK carrier Yodel have renewed their partnership to meet growing demand for Gousto’s food offering.

Under the deal, Yodel is to distribute more than 3 million recipe boxes a year. Online grocery shopping has seen a boom during lockdown with Yodel delivering over 200,000 food boxes a week during the period.

Gousto is using the Yodel Xpect service where the customers will receive regular updates on the delivery including a two hour delivery window on the day.

Sam Holden, chief commercial officer at Yodel, commented: “The boom in independent food deliveries has been one of the inspiring storylines in retail as consumers explore new, convenient ways to get a greater variety of high-quality meals.

“With specialist skills and expertise in food delivery, we pride ourselves on ensuring that perishable goods are handled with care and delivered on time. The first five years of our partnership with Gousto has given us an excellent foundation to build on, and we look forward to playing our part in the next stage of their success story.”

Jamie Clark, Supply Chain Director at Gousto, commented: “Gousto recipe boxes are an ideal way to get fresh ingredients delivered to your door and with over 50 weekly recipes to choose from, we inspire people to try new, exciting dishes. With precise ingredients and easy-to-follow recipe cards included in each delivery, we want to get Britain cooking and enjoying dinner times together with no household food waste.
