Yusen opens new pharma logistics facility at Schipol

Yusen Logistics has opened a new 1200 square metre facility at Schipol Airport in the Netherlands. Pharma Gateway has been designed to be a link between the company’s Antwerp import / export centre and European Central Warehouse with its air freight services out of the international airport.

This is the latest stage in Yusen’s global healthcare strategy, and will be run from a central control tower, linking to the company’s offices around the world. The new warehouse is temperature controlled at 15 – 25 degrees C with a cold storage unit of 2-8 degrees C.

The Pharma Gateway will serve eight destinations around the world including Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Chile, Canada, Brazil and the US. It will handle a range of pharmaceutical products from antibiotics and vaccines to biotechnology and healthcare equipment.

Yusen’s European Superhighway serves pharmaceutical companies across the region by air, sea and road, handling up to 1.6 million pallets a year in part or full load consignments.
