Polish convenience store chain Żabka has announced that DHL Parcel customers can collect their cash-on-delivery (COD) purchases at any one of its more than 5,500 stores across the country.
Purchases can be made with a wide range of options that include cash, payments cards or the Blik phone app.
In addition Żabka stores can be used to return items via the DHL Parcel network using e-store labels. A final option is for the convenience stores to be used as a drop-off point should the customer not be in.
Sales and services development director at Żabka, Przemysław Tomaszewski, said, “The ability to collect and send parcels in our network is becoming more and more popular among customers, as evidenced by the numbers – just last year Żabka stores served over 1.7 million parcels, and that number is constantly growing.”
Online shopping is growing quickly in Poland, with forecasts suggesting it could take up to 10% of retail spend in the next year or so.
“The growing number of users and their positive ratings confirm that this is a good direction for further investments,” said network leader, Maciej Dudek of DHL Parcel Networks.
“Year on year, the number of shipments serviced at all our points is more than six times higher.
