Royal Mail buys stake in Market Engine Global

As part of Royal Mail’s interest in the global e-commerce market, the company has bought a stake in an Australian startup, Market Engine Global.

Market Engine Global enables an e-commerce company to tailor its system to new territories around the world by tailoring its shop front designs to a local market as well as translating into a local language. The system also provides business management and analysis systems, enabling a firm to keep tabs on inventory and sales in a locality.

Earlier this year Royal Mail bought a personal shopping developer Mallzee as well as Storefeeder, that provide courier integration, order management, smart warehousing and stock control for online merchants.

In a statement, Royal Mail said that the company can use its size and scale to help Market Engine expand into global markets while using the systems designed by the company to improve the way the British mail company works internally.
